OUR STORY
Beauty at The Gate first opened its doors in 2013, with just 4 treatment rooms. Since then, we have grown spectacularly to become the largest salon within our region and become one of the most decorated in the UK. Owned by Samantha and her husband Paul, the business began as a single room in their home. Sam’s passion, knowledge and skills gained from a wide-ranging career within the beauty industry, saw her business grow so much, that a larger premises was required.
Converting an empty unit in the rural village of Holton-Le-Clay, into a luxury 4 room salon, Beauty at The Gate opened its doors in 2013. Sam’s vision to offer clients a luxury experience in a tranquil setting had been brought to life.
Fast forward to 2024, and our salon now consists of 4 separate units that are linked together. All of which are decorated to reflect their use.
Our tranquil area focuses on facials and massage; incorporating its own quiet snug, which clients are often intrigued about as it can be seen from the walkway off the main reception. This area is light and airy, with ambient lighting and candles creating a warm environment.
Another walkway runs from reception which leads to our nail area; a bright and airy area where conversations flow. We purposely keep the spotlights bright in this area due to the nature of the treatments. It is also home to our dedicated waxing room.
Our high-end, opulent treatments take place in another of our units. Entering through a side door, clients step into our beautiful lounge with a calm and tranquil ambiance. The lights are dimmed and the use of candles and feature lighting helps create that spa feeling. There is a coffee and water machine for clients and colourful velvet sofas. Home to our dual treatment room, it is a firm favourite amongst our clients.
Finally, we have our Man at The Gate which is home to dedicated rooms for men’s treatments. Men come through their own dedicated entrance and the décor of wood and steal gives it that industrial feel, whilst remaining a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Beauty at The Gate continues to expand both physically and in terms of the treatments offered. We are now the largest in our area, and one of the most decorated in the UK. Everything about our salon radiates luxury. Being in such a rural area, we wanted to bring that true spa feeling from the big cities to our hometown.
Like many salons, Covid lockdowns took an enormous toll on us, which is when a decision was made to transform ourselves into an advanced skin clinic. We named this change in direction as our ‘New Wave’, a vision to bring high-end treatments that are not available elsewhere in our region, all under one roof. We firmly believe our clients should not have to travel to access exclusive treatments.
Beauty at The Gate now employs 10 therapists, who range in stages of their careers. From newly qualified therapists to those with decades of experience. Our team of therapists work incredibly hard to deliver our vision, and continuously work hard to improve themselves in order to offer a service that is next to none.
